Finish Thompson Inc Blog
During the week of June 18th 2012, Finish Thompson Inc participated in ACHEMA in Frankfurt, Germany. ACHEMA, held every three years, is arguably the world’s largest trade fair for the chemical and chemical equipment industry. The pump and instrumentation sections alone take up several of the fairground buildings and showcase the products of hundreds of different pump manufacturers from all corners of the earth.
Conspicuous during this year’s show was the number of new companies participating for the first time. It’s a remarkable achievement that during a three-year period when the pump world got both smaller and more competitive, and the world economy struggled to make gains, that Finish Thompson revenue grew almost 75%. This is a testament to Finish Thompson’s quality, level of service and the commitment of our respected distribution partners.
Although nothing currently ready for market was introduced in the Finish Thompson booth, plenty was revealed for the future. The new EF Series lithium ion battery operated motor was displayed. This rechargeable, portable motor will be an industry-first for industrial drum and barrel pumps when released to market later this year. Visitors to the booth were also informed that the UC Series will be expanded with four new, larger sizes with flows over 650 GPM (150 m3/hr) as soon as the first quarter of 2013.
Making the biggest splash was the news that Finish Thompson is little more than half a year away from introducing a complete line of plastic and metal air-operated double-diaphragm pumps. Half-inch molded first samples in polypropylene and PVDF were on hand in our booth. With our typical quality and targeted competitive prices, the double-diaphragm pumps will be a natural complement to FTI’s existing range of corrosive fluid handling pump products when introduced in 2013.
